When Dr. Grahek was appointed under emergent circumstances, he understood that meeting the highest professional standards—and legal requirements for future elected service—was essential.
He immediately began the certification process and earned his ABMDI Diplomate certification before formally announcing his campaign.
Dr. Grahek has the education.
Dr. Grahek has the training.
Dr. Grahek has the certification.
And most importantly—Dr. Grahek has the experience to lead.
This office is too important for on-the-job learning. It requires science, medicine, investigative expertise, and accountability.
With over 20 years in medicine caring for our community from birth to death, Dr. Grahek has the clinical experience, scientific knowledge, and compassionate leadership this office demands.
Colorado law now requires that coroners elected in counties with populations over 150,000 after November 5, 2024, hold certification and be in good standing with the American Board of Medicolegal Death Investigators (or be a board-certified forensic pathologist).
